German Media provide extensive coverage of the “Lazgi” Festival in Khiva

• 472BERLIN, May 1. /Dunyo IA/. German online publications “Hauptstadtecho”, “Düsseldorfer Blatt” and “Gast und Rast” have published features on the III “Lazgi” International Dance Festival currently taking place in Khiva, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the reports prepared by journalists Volker Neef and Svetlana Reinwarth, the festival has brought together nearly 300 artists from more than 30 countries. The events are being held within the historic Ichan-Kala complex, a UNESCO World Heritage site.
The authors note that “Lazgi”, which was inscribed on the UNESCO Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity in 2019, is regarded as a vital part of global cultural heritage due to its expressiveness, rhythm, and symbolism.
The festival features international competitions, conferences, forums, and masterclasses, establishing it as a prominent platform for cultural diplomacy and professional exchange.
The role of Uzbekistan as a country that unites cultures through music and dance is also emphasized. It is noted that during the festival, Khiva transforms into a hub for international cultural interaction.
In an interview, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev underscored the festival's significance in strengthening peace and friendship through art. Attention was also given to the work of Muzaffar Sapaev, a master of musical instrument making, who represents the traditions of Uzbek craftsmanship.
According to German media assessments, the “Lazgi” festival contributes to enhancing Uzbekistan's international cultural image and promoting its intangible heritage on the global stage.
