Ambassador of Uzbekistan meets with President of the Japan Institute of International Affairs in Tokyo

TOKYO, June 21. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan Mukhsinkhuja Abdurakhmonov, met with President of the Japan Institute of International Affairs (JIIA) Kenichiro Sasae, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the conversation, the parties reviewed the current state and future prospects of Uzbek-Japanese relations, geopolitical developments taking place in Central Asia, as well as matters regarding expert and analytical cooperation.
Kenichiro Sasae noted the effectiveness of the large-scale reforms implemented in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, emphasizing the country's important role in strengthening regional cooperation and ensuring sustainable economic development.
He also noted Japan's interest in the further active development of cooperation with the countries of Central Asia, in particular with Uzbekistan.
The parties exchanged views on expanding interaction within the framework of the “Central Asia + Japan” format, as well as developing cooperation between analytical and research centers of the two countries.
Following the meeting, agreements were reached to intensify contacts between JIIA and the leading analytical centers of Uzbekistan, explore opportunities for conducting joint research and publications and organize regular roundtables and conferences involving experts.
President of JIIA expressed his intention to visit Uzbekistan within the current year and reaffirmed his readiness to continue supporting the expert-analytical dialogue and cooperation with the Uzbek side.
