LONDON, December 9. /IA "Dunyo"/. As part of his visit to London, Deputy Foreign Minister Bobur Usmanov held a meeting with the British Prime Minister's Special Representative for Afghanistan, Andrew McCoubrey, reports a "Dunyo" information agency correspondent.

The parties discussed the current state and prospects of Uzbek-British cooperation, as well as regional security issues, including the development of the situation in Afghanistan.
The British side highly appreciated the constructive role of Uzbekistan in finding solutions to resolve the situation in Afghanistan to ensure the peaceful development of this country.
The efforts of the Uzbek side to increase the volume of humanitarian assistance to the Afghan population, as well as the implementation of large infrastructure projects in Afghanistan, were especially emphasized.
Joint efforts in the fight against terrorism and extremism were also discussed.
Mutual interest was expressed to continue to actively interact in the Afghan direction, including by continuing consultations on this topic.
