DELHI, February 23. /Dunyo IA/. A delegation of Uzbekistan comprising representatives of the Ministry of Digital Technologies of Uzbekistan, Ministry of Economy and Finance of Uzbekistan, as well as leading national IT institutions, took part in the “AI Impact Summit 2026” in Delhi - one of the key global events in the field of artificial intelligence, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

“AI Impact Summit 2026” was unprecedented in scale, bringing together more than 500 global leaders in artificial intelligence. Delegations from over 100 countries took part, alongside 20 heads of state and government, 60 ministers and the heads of leading international organisations.

Among the distinguished participants were Emmanuel Macron, President of France; Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, President of Brazil; Pedro Sánchez, Prime Minister of Spain and Petteri Orpo, Prime Minister of Finland, as well as leaders from Greece, the Netherlands, Sri Lanka, Mauritius and other nations. Global institutions were represented by António Guterres, Secretary-General of the United Nations and Kristalina Georgieva, Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund.

A central theme of the summit was the imperative to democratise artificial intelligence. Narendra Modi, Prime Minister of India, stressed that AI must not become a tool for deepening inequality, but rather serve as an instrument of inclusivity and empowerment.

Participants underscored that the principal objective is to harness the power of algorithms to address pressing global challenges - from combating climate change and improving healthcare systems to building inclusive educational environments. Particular attention was devoted to cybersecurity and to preventing the widening of the digital divide between nations.

The summit culminated in the signing of the Delhi Declaration, to which Uzbekistan also acceded, reaffirming participating countries’ commitments to advancing a “human-centred” approach to artificial intelligence.

Uzbekistan’s participation in the forum served as a clear demonstration of the country’s growing technological capacity and its determination to integrate more deeply into the global digital agenda.

On the sidelines of the summit, representatives from the Ministry of Digital Technologies of the Republic of Uzbekistan and other national IT institutions held a series of focused discussions with leaders of major international consortia and technology companies. Key topics included the development of highly skilled AI professionals, organisation of training programmes and technical workshops, prospects for joint projects in establishing assembly facilities and developing electronics value chains, launching AI-based pilot projects for both public and private sectors, hosting joint hackathons to support startups and other collaborative initiatives.

In addition to engagement with the business sector, Uzbek delegation conducted substantive meetings with India’s relevant governmental bodies.

Talks were held at the Ministry of External Affairs of India and Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology of India. The discussions focused on a bilateral roadmap for cooperation, encompassing not only knowledge exchange but also practical projects aimed at creating technological corridors linking Central and South Asia. Other key topics on the bilateral agenda were also addressed during these meetings.

Uzbekistan’s participation in the “AI Impact Summit 2026” reaffirmed the country’s view of artificial intelligence as a strategic priority for national development. In the context of the rapid expansion of generative AI and the reshaping of global markets, engagement on such platforms enables Uzbekistan to assert its national interests, establish reliable partnerships and attract investment to build the economy of the future.

By signing the Delhi Declaration, Uzbekistan reaffirmed its commitment to the principles of responsible and accessible AI, designed to serve the benefit of all humanity.
