ISLAMABAD, February 23. /Dunyo IA/. Leading Pakistani media outlets are reporting on the outcomes of reforms underway in Uzbekistan across the socio-political and economic spheres, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

In particular, news agencies and publications such as “DNA News”, “Islamabad Post”, “Daily Independent”, “Daily Spokesman”, “Daily Ittihat”, “Sub News”, “News Network Pakistan”, magazine “Centreline”, “The Gulf Observer”, “The World News AM”, “Diplomatic Affairs”, “MNN News.online”, “The Diplomatic Insight” and “Infora News” have published reports highlighting the steady growth of business activity across Uzbekistan’s regions.

According to the Center for Economic Research and Reforms (CERR), comprehensive monitoring shows positive dynamics across all key indicators. In January 2026, tax revenues increased by 39.2% compared to the same period last year. The highest growth was recorded in the Syrdarya, Navoi, Khorezm and Kashkadarya regions, averaging around 49%. Income tax revenues rose by 15.1%, property tax by 19.6% and land tax by 20.3%.

Customs revenues also increased by 19.8% year-on-year, with the most significant growth observed in the Navoi Region, Jizzakh Region and Namangan Region, where figures climbed by approximately 67%. Merchandise exports expanded by 19.5%, with the highest increases registered in the Tashkent Region and Navoi Region, at roughly 47%.

The Pakistani press also highlighted the dynamic development of the private sector. In January 2026 alone, 7,116 new enterprises were registered, led by Tashkent (1,712), followed by the Tashkent Region (735), Samarkand Region (610) and Khorezm Region (550). Trading activity on commodity exchanges also rose markedly, particularly in the Syrdarya Region, where the indicator increased 11.1-fold.

“Information provided by CERR confirms the sustained growth of business activity across Uzbekistan’s regions and the strengthening of the country’s economic potential”, -  Pakistani media outlets concluded.
