BERLIN, April 28. /Dunyo IA/. The international cadet judo tournament – “Berlin Millennium Team Cadet European Cup 2026” - was held in the German capital, bringing together 737 athletes from 35 countries, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The Uzbekistan national team demonstrated an outstanding result, taking first place in the overall team standings.

The Uzbek judokas secured 4 gold, 2 silver and 5 bronze medals (11 awards in total). In the final medal tally, Uzbekistan team outperformed the national teams of France and Azerbaijan.

Gold medalists:

Charos Khikmatova (–48 kg)

Abubakr Sattorov (–60 kg)

Zukhra Alimova (–57 kg)

Samandar Sunnatov (–81 kg)

The victory of Samandar Sunnatov, who defeated a strong opponent from Azerbaijan, was particularly noted.

Silver medalists:

Mamurjon Abduvakhobov (–50 kg)

Davlatbek Akhrorov (–60 kg)

Notably, the final in the under 60 kg category was contested by two Uzbek athletes – Abubakr Sattorov and Davlatbek Akhrorov, highlighting the high level of competition within the team.

Bronze medalists:

Iroda Sirojiddinova (–40 kg)

Dilafruz Boltabaeva (–44 kg)

Bobur Yusupov (–55 kg)

Akromjon Karimov (–66 kg)

Bekhruzbek Usmonov (–73 kg)

Fifth place was taken by Gulsanam Khazratova, Jurabek Eshpulatov, and Poshshajon Jumaeva.

European Judo Union specifically highlighted Charos Khikmatova’s performance, noting her confident control of the final match and technical superiority. This victory marked her second European Cup title of the current season.

Experts believe the team's success is the result of systematic preparation and the work of the coaching staff led by Romanian specialist Aurelian-Ciprian Fleisz. The team demonstrated not only the presence of strong leaders but also impressive depth in the squad.

Ambassador of Uzbekistan Dilshod Akhatov, attended the tournament, watched the final matches, and participated in the award ceremony.

-  The high level of the tournament is confirmed by the number of participants. The Uzbekistan team showed excellent fighting spirit and deservedly achieved success.

The results of the competition in Berlin once again confirmed the high standard of the Uzbek school of judo and the great promise of the young generation of athletes.
