WASHINGTON, August 18. /Dunyo IA/. Ahead of the 35th Anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan, U.S. Congresswoman and Member of the Parliamentary Caucus on Uzbekistan Carol Miller extended her sincere congratulations and best wishes to the people of Uzbekistan through Dunyo IA:
- I congratulate Uzbekistan on Independence Day and on the achievements the country has made over the years of its independence.
I have had the opportunity to visit Uzbekistan twice and am awestruck by the beauty of the scenery and kindness of the people. I am so thankful for our friendship and the many friendships I have grown within your country. As you know, I am deeply passionate about strengthening the ties between our two nations in both economic and cultural pursuits. Under President Trump, we have seen strides in greater cooperation, including the recent Joint Investment Framework to strengthen our partnership in the critical minerals sector.
I will continue to work tirelessly to teach my colleagues about the importance of the U.S. - Uzbekistan relationship and advance legislation to lift the Jackson-Vanik Amendment.
I look forward to our continued work together and friendship, and once again wish you and all the wonderful people of Uzbekistan and very Happy Independence Day.
