Reception in honor of the 35th Anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan hosted in London

• 185LONDON, September 11. /Dunyo IA/. An official reception dedicated to the 35th Anniversary of the Independence of Uzbekistan was held in London, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Event was attended by ambassadors and staff of diplomatic missions from various nations, representatives of the government and parliament of the United Kingdom, business and academic circles, as well as compatriots.
Guest of honour was the Speaker of the House of Commons of the United Kingdom, Sir Lindsay Hoyle. In his speech, he noted the dynamic development of relations between Uzbekistan and the United Kingdom and the expansion of cooperation across trade, economic, educational, cultural and other spheres.
He specifically highlighted the successful Initial Public Offering (IPO) of the National Investment Fund of Uzbekistan (UzNIF) in London, describing it as a milestone outcome of the economic reforms implemented under the leadership of the President.
As part of the reception, a cultural program was presented featuring a delegation of cultural and art figures led by the Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan Ozodbek Nazarbekov. Performances were delivered to the guests by People's Artists Sevara Nazarkhan and Toir Kuziev, singer Bahrom Nazarov, “Doppi Twins” group and the national dance ensemble.
Guests were also introduced to Uzbek national cuisine, for which a team of chefs from Uzbekistan had been specifically invited to the event.
