BEIJING, August 14. /Dunyo IA/. Ahead of the 35th Anniversary of the State Independence of Uzbekistan, Li Ziguo, Director of the Institute of Eurasia at the China Institute of International Studies under the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of China, conveyed his sincere congratulations and best wishes through Dunyo IA:
- This year marks the 35th Anniversary of Uzbekistan's Independence. I sincerely congratulate the people of the Republic on this significant milestone!
Over these years, the country has achieved immense success. These achievements encompass the construction of national statehood, the formation of the political system, brilliant results in the economic sphere and large-scale social development.
Progress over the last ten years is particularly remarkable. As a result of the large-scale reforms implemented, Uzbekistan has become the most attractive country in the region for foreign investors.
In particular, the interest of Chinese companies in investment activities in the Republic has risen sharply in recent years. Today, their number in Uzbekistan exceeds six thousand.
All-weather comprehensive strategic partnership for a new era between the two countries is actively developing both on a bilateral basis and within the framework of such multilateral mechanisms as the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation and “Central Asia-China” mechanism.
Thanks to new transportation corridors, Uzbekistan is gaining convenient access to maritime routes, transforming from the geographical center of Eurasia into a transportation hub and a strategic bridge connecting the west and east of the continent.
I am confident that the construction of the China–Kyrgyzstan–Uzbekistan railway will further strengthen the ties between our countries. Due to its central geographical position on the Eurasian continent, Uzbekistan serves as a critical crossroads of transit routes connecting East and West, North and South.
