MOSCOW, August 22. /Dunyo IA/.  July issue of the Russian magazine “Natsionalnaya oborona” (“National Defense”) published an article titled “New Uzbekistan: President Shavkat Mirziyoyev's Path of Success", prepared by the Directorate of International Programs of the Caspian Institute for Strategic Studies, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Publication states that the New Uzbekistan concept, initiated by President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, has marked a fundamental transformation across all spheres of the state's life. The transition to an “open door” policy and active integration has transformed the republic into an independent hub of investment attraction and geopolitical stability in Central Asia.

It is noted that the success of the Uzbek development model is confirmed by macroeconomic indicators. The country's GDP has tripled - from $50 billion in 2016 to $147 billion by the end of 2025 - while growth rates accelerated to 7.7 percent. Over the years of reforms, more than 150 billion dollars in foreign investment has been attracted, and exports have increased nearly threefold. The strategic objective for 2030 is to increase the volume of the economy to $240 billion and enter the ranks of upper-middle-income countries.

Reforms are underpinned by a human-centric approach. The principal achievement of the social policy has been the reduction of the poverty rate from 35 percent to 6.6 percent. This has been accomplished through the creation of millions of jobs, support for business and infrastructure modernization. Enrolment in preschool education has increased from 27 percent to 78 percent, and in higher education from 9 percent to 42 percent.

Authors also focus attention on Tashkent's new foreign policy course, which is based on pragmatism, multilateralism, and proactivity. It is noted that the era of closed borders in the region belongs to the past: the volumes of mutual trade and investment in Central Asia have increased fivefold. On the international arena, Uzbekistan actively promotes transport corridor projects, environmental initiatives and the integration of Afghanistan into global logistics.

Concluding part of the article presents Russian-Uzbek relations, which have reached an unprecedented level of comprehensive strategic partnership and alliance, as a multi-level system that extends far beyond presidential contacts. The continuous political dialogue is reinforced by inter-parliamentary, trade, economic, investment, inter-regional, educational and cultural ties.
