JEDDAH, August 24. /Dunyo IA/.  General Consulate of our country in the city of Jeddah organized an outreach reception in the Rabigh region for compatriots temporarily conducting labour activities in Saudi Arabia, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the outreach meeting, the working and living conditions of our citizens, their provision with food supplies and their work schedules were thoroughly examined.

As noted by the compatriots, within the multinational workforce, citizens of Uzbekistan are treated with special attention and respect. Highly comfortable living conditions have been created for them, quality catering is organized, the minimum wage stands at 1,200 USD and overtime hours are paid additionally. Furthermore, for recreation on Fridays, transport vehicles are allocated for them to perform a pilgrimage (ziyarah) to the cities of Mecca and Medina. No grievances or complaints regarding working conditions were received from the citizens.

During the conversation, staff members of the General Consulate explained the procedure for temporary consular registration in order to expand the scope of providing consular and legal assistance to citizens and ensure prompt communication in emergency situations and also provided channels for direct contact.

Following the results of the conversation, the compatriots put forward proposals and requests regarding further expediting the employment and visa issuance processes, as well as simplifying the acquisition of exit visas for short-term trips to the homeland in the event of emergencies or tragic family circumstances. Diplomats undertook the commitment to address these matters in cooperation with the employer and the relevant state agencies.
