PRAGUE, July 31. /Dunyo IA/. Diplomats from the Embassy of Uzbekistan met with Petr Čáp, Head of Office of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) in the Czech Republic, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Parties discussed enhancing the pre-departure orientation system for citizens of Uzbekistan, as well as the joint development of short videos and practical handbooks for individuals traveling to the Czech Republic for employment, study, or family reunification. These materials will provide comprehensive information on entry procedures, employment, labour rights, and the risks of exploitation. Prepared in both Uzbek and Russian, project is scheduled for completion by mid-November 2026.

In addition, the IOM will provide the Embassy with two completed videos on the Assisted Voluntary Return and Reintegration program.

Sides also discussed the preparation of information booklets on labour law; the IOM will hand over 100 hard copies of the booklet in Russian along with electronic versions of the materials, which the parties will jointly translate and design in the Uzbek language for dissemination through official resources.

Parties noted the high demand in the Czech Republic for specialists in healthcare, elderly care, and construction -in particular, “Dukovany” Nuclear Power Plant will require around 7,000 foreign specialists.

Following the meeting, the sides agreed to continue cooperation on ensuring the safe migration of Uzbek citizens to the Czech Republic.
