More than 9 million Foreign Nationals have visited Uzbekistan since the beginning of the year

TASHKENT, September 15. /Dunyo IA/. In January–August 2026, 9,102,729 foreign nationals visited Uzbekistan for tourism purposes, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
According to the National Statistics Committee, the number of foreign tourists increased by 1.6 million compared with the same period in 2025, or 21.1 percent.
Neighbouring Central Asian states ranked highest in terms of the number of tourists visiting Uzbekistan. Kyrgyzstan ranked first with 2,524,378 visitors, followed by Kazakhstan with 2,171,581 and Tajikistan with 2,025,400.
A significant number of tourist arrivals also came from Russia, with 867,757 visitors, Afghanistan - 329,620, China - 318,465, and Turkmenistan - 224,766.
The top ten also included Türkiye with 130,155 visitors, India with 39,538, and Germany with 32,249.
Thus, the majority of tourist arrivals continue to come from Central Asian countries. At the same time, the notable increase in the number of visitors from China, Türkiye, India, Germany and other countries points to the expanding geography of Uzbekistan’s international tourism market.
According to experts, if the current trend continues, Uzbekistan has good prospects for further strengthening its position as one of the leading tourist destinations in Central Asia.
