Uzbekistan and Krasnoyarsk krai agree to expand tourism exchanges

NOVOSIBIRSK, April 16. /Dunyo IA/. An online meeting was held between representatives of relevant government agencies of Uzbekistan and Russia’s Krasnoyarsk krai responsible for the development of the tourism sector, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event, organized by the Consulate General of Uzbekistan in Novosibirsk, brought together officials from the Tourism Committee of Uzbekistan, as well as the leadership of the Krasnoyarsk krai Tourism Agency and representatives of the regional Ministry of Culture.
Director of the Krasnoyarsk krai Tourism Agency, Elena Nedbailo, highlighted the steadily growing interest among residents of the region in visiting Uzbekistan, particularly for tourism purposes, noting that this trend is also supported by the availability of around 20 direct flights.
It was noted that the Russian side is interested in organizing exchange info tours between tour operators of Uzbekistan and Krasnoyarsk krai. Uzbek tour operators were also invited to participate in the International Festival of Ethnic Music and Crafts “Mir Sibiri,” scheduled to take place in Krasnoyarsk krai in early July 2026.
Uzbekistan’s Consul General, Aslam Akbarov, emphasized the rich diversity and historical value of the country’s tourism heritage.
It was underscored that Russia remains a strategic tourism partner for Uzbekistan, with the number of Russian tourists traditionally exceeding visitors from non-CIS countries by 1.5 to 2 times. All necessary conditions and opportunities have been created in Uzbekistan to ensure a comfortable experience for tourists, including those from Krasnoyarsk krai.
The Russian side accepted the proposal of Uzbekistan’s Tourism Committee to hold a large-scale roadshow in Krasnoyarsk in the summer of 2026 to showcase Uzbekistan’s tourism potential.
At the same time, the Uzbek side, presenting the vast opportunities of the national tourism industry, agreed with their Krasnoyarsk counterparts to significantly expand bilateral cooperation in tourism, including the development of a joint action plan.
