WASHINGTON, May 7. /Dunyo IA/.  A delegation from Uzbekistan, led by the Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov, participated in the year's largest international investment platform - the “SelectUSA Investment Summit 2026”, held from May 3rd to 6th in the United States, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The summit primarily focused on areas such as technological innovation, sustainable development, industrial manufacturing, and the expansion of global investment partnerships.

The event brought together representatives from leading international corporations, investment funds, and government agencies. Delegations from various regions of the world participated actively, confirming the high level of global interest in the US investment agenda.

Uzbekistan delegation included heads of leading domestic companies, such as “AKFA Group”, “BMB Holding”, “Sharq Tubes”, “Texnomart”, “Safia Cafe & Bakery”, “Oqtepa Food Service”, “ADM Global”, “Delta Global Dynamics” and several other major business entities.

The Uzbek delegation focused its attention on expanding investment cooperation, creating new jobs and developing direct ties between Uzbek and American companies across various economic sectors.

As part of the summit's official opening program, “AKFA Group” - with the participation of representatives from the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. Department of State, the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Washington, and Kentucky state officials — held a ceremony to launch its first investment project for the production of aluminum solutions in Kentucky. This project is being implemented as part of the company's strategy to expand its international presence and strengthen its manufacturing base in the American market.

On the sidelines of the summit, a large-scale business dialogue was also held at the Embassy of Uzbekistan, featuring leadership from the U.S. Department of Commerce, the U.S. Department of State, the American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce (AUCC), leading Uzbek-American business circles, and industry experts.

The events were attended by Uzbekistan’s Minister of Investment, Industry, and Trade Laziz Kudratov, U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce for International Trade David Vogel, Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs Paul Kapoor, U.S. Ambassador to Tashkent Jonathan Henick, and the Chairwoman of the American-Uzbekistan Chamber of Commerce Carolyn Lamm.

In their speeches, the participants emphasized the importance of further strengthening the economic dialogue and developing practical cooperation between the two countries.

It was particularly noted that the forum took place in a constructive and productive atmosphere. Uzbek companies actively participated in the discussions, received detailed answers to all their questions, and established direct contacts with leading American companies across various economic sectors.

U.S. Under Secretary of Commerce David Vogel noted:

- The participation of Uzbek companies in “SelectUSA” demonstrates their high level of readiness for international cooperation. We see significant potential for expanding bilateral investment collaboration and implementing new joint projects.

U.S. Assistant Secretary of State Paul Kapur emphasized:

- Uzbekistan is becoming an important and reliable partner for the United States in Central Asia. We highly value the momentum of reforms and the country's openness to international business, which creates a solid foundation for long-term engagement.

It is noted that the Presidents of Uzbekistan and the United States are establishing strong institutional and political foundations that open vast opportunities for business and take bilateral cooperation to a qualitatively new level.

The result of this systematic work was the creation of the American-Uzbekistan Investment and Business Council, which held its inaugural meeting in Washington this April, establishing a new platform for deepening investment dialogue and promoting joint initiatives between the business circles of the two countries.

At the end of the visit, U.S. government agencies and leading companies were invited to participate in the upcoming Tashkent International Investment Forum, to be held this June, where opportunities to discuss and achieve concrete practical agreements and new investment projects are expected.
