KARACHI, May 7. /Dunyo IA/. As part of the working visit of the Ambassador of Uzbekistan Alisher Tukhtaev and the Khokim (Governor) of the Navoi region Normat Tursunov to the city of Karachi, a meeting was held with compatriots living in Pakistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the meeting, the sides exchanged views on the large-scale socio-economic reforms implemented in our country in recent years, as well as on programs aimed at improving the well-being of the population and creating new opportunities. In particular, special attention was paid to the initiatives of the President of Uzbekistan aimed at the reliable protection of the rights and interests of citizens living abroad, expanding the volume of material assistance to compatriots in difficult situations and establishing centers that provide free legal, social and psychological support to migrants.

Information was also presented on the diversification of the state migration policy, the deployment of migrants to developed countries with higher-paying jobs, training in modern professions, and support measures for both the migrants and their family members.

During the conversation, the living and working conditions of the compatriots, issues of their children's education and upbringing, as well as existing legal challenges, were discussed. All proposals and appeals from the participants were carefully heard and relevant legal consultations were provided. Particular attention was paid to further improving mechanisms for the timely provision of practical assistance to citizens.

Issues of strengthening ties with compatriots abroad, reinforcing their spiritual and cultural connection to the Motherland, and preserving national values, customs, and traditions were also discussed.

The meeting was held in a warm and friendly atmosphere. The participants noted with appreciation the reforms being implemented under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, the efforts to improve the standard of living, and the broad opportunities being created. The compatriots expressed their readiness to continue making a worthy contribution to the country’s development.

At the conclusion of the meeting, a “dastarkhan” featuring dishes of Uzbekistan’s national cuisine was organized for the guests.
