ASHGABAT, May 6. /Dunyo IA/. Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan organized the return of a group of compatriots from Iran in transit through Turkmenistan, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The Embassies in Ashgabat and Tehran, in cooperation with Turkmen authorities, promptly resolved visa and transportation issues for the compatriots.

Thanks to the assistance of the Turkmenistan authorities, 41 Uzbek citizens were safely received at the “Sarakhs – Serakhs” and “Gaudan – Bajgiran” border crossing points. Embassy diplomats ensured their secure escort back to their homeland.

These measures reaffirmed that the protection of the rights and interests of citizens remains an unconditional priority of the New Uzbekistan’s foreign policy. The successful coordination of actions also demonstrated a high level of trust and good-neighborliness among the countries of the region.

The diplomatic department emphasized that no compatriot would be left without support. Efforts to return Uzbek citizens to their families continue, guided by the key state principle: “Human interests are above all else”.
