INCHEON, December 12. /DUNYO IA/. Representatives of the Consular Section of the Embassy of Uzbekistan, in cooperation with the local office of the Migration Agency in Seoul, organized an outreach consular service in response to requests from Uzbek nationals temporarily residing, working, or studying in the South Korean city of Incheon, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Discussions focused on recent developments in Uzbekistan’s legislation, as well as political, economic, and cultural life. Particular attention was given to the latest presidential decrees and resolutions aimed at supporting Uzbek citizens abroad and strengthening interethnic relations.

The meeting also emphasized the importance of compliance with South Korean laws, preventing illegal residence, and countering the spread of destructive ideas and provocations. Citizens received guidance on how to contact the Embassy and local law enforcement authorities in cases of rights violations or persecution.

Uzbek diplomats provided clarifications on procedures related to registration in the consular registry, citizenship issues, notarial services, civil documentation, and biometric passports for international travel, among other regulatory matters. More than 100 Uzbek nationals participated, receiving a variety of consular services and legal consultations.

Officials from the local office of the Migration Agency reviewed problematic situations for over 50 contract workers, explaining procedures for the distribution of subsidies, compensations, and loans to citizens employed abroad, in accordance with the Resolution of the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan dated April 22, 2025. They also outlined the opportunities available through South Korea’s Ministry of Labor for E-9 and E-7 visa holders, as well as updates to relevant local legislation.

The Embassy of Uzbekistan announced plans to hold similar outreach consular visits in other South Korean cities beginning early next year.
