Uzbekistan and Türkiye discussed the prospects of concluding an intergovernmental agreement on social protection

ANKARA, November 1. /Dunyo IA/. As part of the working visit of the delegation of Uzbekistan to Ankara, a meeting was held at the Ministry of Labour and Social Security of Türkiye on October 27, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the MFA of Uzbekistan, during the talks, Deputy Minister of Labour and Social Security of Türkiye Faruk Özçelik emphasized the readiness of the Turkish side to establish a permanent dialogue in the field of migration and to develop new mechanisms for its organized implementation.

He also expressed readiness to assist in the legalization of the status of citizens of Uzbekistan who are working as domestic workers in Türkiye but staying in an irregular situation.

Special attention was paid to the possibilities of legalizing compatriots temporarily engaged in labour activities in such sectors as construction, catering, and services.

The parties discussed the possibility of concluding an intergovernmental agreement between Uzbekistan and Türkiye in the field of social protection. The Turkish side expressed confidence in a positive outcome of the process.
