Diplomats of Uzbekistan engage with compatriots in Türkiye

• 578ANKARA, January 14. /Dunyo IA/. The Embassy of Uzbekistan in Türkiye hosted a meeting with Uzbek nationals temporarily residing and working in the country, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Participants were briefed on the substance and key messages of the Address delivered by the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, to the Oliy Majlis and the people of Uzbekistan. Particular attention was paid to the priority areas of national development outlined in the Address as well as to the major reform initiatives aimed at ensuring sustainable growth and social progress.
The attendees were also briefed on the importance and practical objectives of the “Uzbekistan–2030” Strategy, which is aimed at ensuring long-term economic stability, reducing poverty, and protecting the environment. The initiative was presented as a key policy framework guiding the country’s sustainable development agenda. It was further underscored that 2026 has been officially designated in Uzbekistan as the Year of Mahalla Development and the Development of Society as a Whole.
It was emphasised that the President’s Address set out the task of revising the “Uzbekistan–2030” Strategy, with compatriots living abroad encouraged to take an active part in the public consultation process. They were invited to contribute their views and proposals to the further refinement of the draft document via the official portal, uzbekistan2030.uz.
During the discussion, members of the Uzbek diaspora put forward a number of practical proposals aimed at further strengthening ties with their homeland, safeguarding their rights and legitimate interests and expanding cooperation in the social, economic, educational and cultural spheres. The exchange underscored the growing role of overseas communities in supporting Uzbekistan’s reform agenda and inclusive national development.
In particular, the active and highly engaged participants highlighted several priority areas, including the establishment of systematic and sustained dialogue with compatriots abroad, the further strengthening of mechanisms for youth engagement and support, and the improvement of information exchange through the effective use of digital platforms. Emphasis was also placed on the regular organisation of cultural and educational events as a means of fostering closer community ties.
The proposals and initiatives put forward during the meeting will be carefully reviewed and a corresponding action plan will be developed on their basis. In closing, participants underscored the importance of further strengthening mutual cooperation and agreed on the need to hold such meetings on a regular basis in the future, reflecting a shared commitment to continued engagement and partnership.
