Robust growth: Uzbekistan’s fruit and vegetable exports surge by almost 37% to over $1.9 billion

ТASHKENT, December 29. /Dunyo IA/.  Uzbekistan is demonstrating steady growth in fruit and vegetable exports, strengthening its position in international markets, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Supplies of agricultural products are increasing, and demand for Uzbek fruits and vegetables continues to grow across various countries.

According to the National Statistics Committee, from January to November, the country exported 2 million tons of produce valued at $1.9 billion, marking a 36.8% increase compared to the same period last year. Fruit and vegetable exports accounted for 6.3% of the country’s total volume of exports.

Fruits and berries led in volume with 580.9 thousand tons, followed by vegetables at 553 thousand tons and watermelons and melons at 232.9 thousand tonnes, which are particularly popular in overseas markets. Mung beans accounted for 129.6 thousand tons, while peanuts and nuts totalled 25.8 thousand tons. Other products made up around 500 thousand tons, reflecting the diversity of Uzbekistan’s export portfolio.

This growth has been made possible through improved logistics, expanded international markets, and enhanced product quality.

Uzbekistan continues to consolidate its position on the global stage as a reliable supplier of fresh and high-quality fruits and vegetables.
