BRUSSELS, January 12. /Dunyo IA/. Belgium-based digital outlet “EU Reporter” has highlighted the rationale and objectives behind the modernization of Uzbekistan’s “Uzbekistan-2030” development strategy, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The article emphasizes that President Shavkat Mirziyoyev tasked the Oliy Majlis and the nation with reviewing the “Uzbekistan-2030” strategy in his annual address. The strategy is regarded as a key policy document, outlining the medium- and long-term development directions for the country. It consolidates the overall logic of reforms, the priority goals for building a New Uzbekistan and the practical mechanisms for achieving them.
In recent years, Uzbekistan has achieved significant results in socio-economic development, public administration, human rights protection, and the development of civil society. The “Uzbekistan-2030” strategy has played a crucial role in this process. At the same time, societal dynamics and global developments are constantly evolving. New economic conditions, technological changes and international trends are presenting the government with fresh challenges and priorities.
Consequently, there is a growing need to refine the “Uzbekistan-2030” strategy in line with current realities, the needs of the population and contemporary global trends.
According to the author, at the heart of the revised strategy lies a central idea put forward by the President that government institutions should serve the people, not the other way around. The updated strategy aims to translate this principle into practical measures, ensuring that the country’s development proceeds in a more effective, results-oriented and accountable manner.
In the process of refining the strategy, the results achieved so far are being thoroughly analysed and existing challenges are carefully considered. At the same time, performance indicators that allow for precise measurement of progress toward each goal are being revised. For every specific objective, a responsible government body is assigned and the required financial resources are clearly identified, strengthening accountability and transparency in implementation.
Another key aspect is ensuring that the strategy is understandable and meaningful to every citizen. The updated “Uzbekistan-2030” strategy is being designed so that each individual can see how it provides practical benefits for their life, their family and the future of their children. In other words, the strategy is intended to deliver tangible, day-to-day improvements, rather than abstract slogans.
One of the most fundamental principles is that the strategy is being developed through public consultation. The draft is being submitted for public discussion, taking into account proposals from citizens, experts and civil society institutions. Only a document that reflects the perspectives of the community can be truly effective and relevant.
