China’s Sichuan Province sends first 300-ton tea shipment of the year to Tashkent

ТASHKENT, January 26. /Dunyo IA/.  Ten trucks carrying 300-tons of high-quality green tea have departed from Jiajiang County, Sichuan Province, China, bound for Tashkent, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to “Xinhua” News Agency, this shipment is the first batch of tea exported from Sichuan Province in 2026.

The trucks will cross the border via the Xinjiang-Uyghur Autonomous Region and follow the China – Kyrgyzstan - Uzbekistan route to reach Tashkent.

The agency notes that in recent years, Jiajiang County has been actively transforming its tea industry with a focus on exports. In 2025, the total value of tea exported from Jiajiang reached approximately USD 29 million.

Additionally, the county has established Sichuan’s first overseas tea warehouse in Uzbekistan, which now serves a distribution network spanning nearly 20 countries and regions worldwide, including Russia, Morocco and other nations.

It is recalled that in 2025, Uzbekistan’s foreign trade turnover with China exceeded USD 17.2 billion, with China accounting for 21.2% of Uzbekistan’s total foreign trade.
