Memory of World War II victims honored in the Netherlands

LEUSDEN, April 14. /Dunyo IA/. In the Netherlands, a traditional commemoration ceremony dedicated to 77 Soviet soldiers from Central Asia, including Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan, was held at the “Koedriest” monument park near the city of Leusden, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event was attended by representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Belgium. The ceremony also saw the participation of the Mayor of Leusden, Gerolf Bouwmeester, the leadership of the “Soviet Field of Honour” Foundation, volunteers, representatives of the local mass media and Uzbek compatriots residing in the Netherlands.
During the event, sincere gratitude was expressed to the government and public of the Netherlands, the “Soviet Field of Honour” Foundation and specifically its chairman Remco Reiding, for their efforts in maintaining war graves, immortalizing the memory of World War II victims, including Uzbek servicemen and working to identify them.
Following the event, representatives of the Uzbek side agreed to further strengthen mutual cooperation to immortalize the memory of the fallen and organize such cultural and educational events on a regular basis.
