President of Uzbekistan meets with president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development

ТASHKENT, January 23. /Dunyo IA/.  Yesterday, on the sideliners of events in Davos, President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a meeting with president of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development, Odile Renaud-Basso, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the press service of the Head of our State, practical aspects of further deepening the strategic partnership and expanding cooperation with this leading financial institution were discussed.

The bank's cooperation with our country is of a sustainable strategic nature. Uzbekistan remains the EBRD's largest partner in the region. The bank's investments amounted to almost $7 billion.

In 2025, the volume of operations exceeded $1 billion, including those aimed at supporting the private sector.

The EBRD's contribution to the development of green energy, the modernization of transport infrastructure, the implementation of environmental programs, the reform of the financial market, and the promotion of entrepreneurship was highly appreciated.

Priority areas for cooperation for the current year have been identified, including private sector development, infrastructure, digital transformation of rail transport, and others.

Particular attention was paid to continuing programs to train women and young people in modern professions and business.
