Syrdarya region’s economic potential presented to Turkey’s foreign economic relations board (DEİK)

ANKARA, January 1. /Dunyo IA/. Investment from Türkiye into projects in the automotive, pharmaceutical, metallurgical and construction sectors in Uzbekistan’s Syrdarya region is set to expand, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
This was discussed during a webinar dedicated to further strengthening cooperation between the Foreign Economic Relations Board of Türkiye (DEİK) and the Khokimiyat of the Syrdarya region.
The webinar brought together Özgür Onur Özgüven, Chair of the Turkish–Uzbek Business Council at DEİK; Bobur Khudjamov, Deputy Khokim of the Syrdarya region; representatives of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Türkiye; major Turkish investors operating in the region and representatives of more than 30 companies.
As part of the event, comprehensive presentations were delivered on the Syrdarya region’s potential in trade and economic cooperation, investment and other priority areas. Discussions focused on opportunities in the automotive industry, metallurgy, construction materials production, logistics, and related sectors. Participants were also briefed on the advantages of the Syrdarya Free Economic Zone.
At the same time, leading Turkish companies already operating in the region shared their practical experience, highlighting the competitive advantages and business opportunities available in Syrdarya.
Turkish business representatives expressed strong interest in further exploring the region’s potential and prospects for cooperation and received detailed responses to their questions.
