TRT-Avaz: January 14 marks the formation of one of the strongest armies in Central Asia

ANKARA, January 14. /Dunyo IA/. An article dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the Armed Forces of Uzbekistan has been published on the information portal of the TRT-Avaz television channel, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
It is reported that, on this occasion, a ceremonial parade was held in Tashkent ahead of the celebrations.
The article notes that January 14 - Defenders of the Motherland Day, celebrated in Uzbekistan since 1993 - is of great importance not only for military personnel, but also for everyone who ensures the country’s security.
“Majestic footsteps of soldiers and the sounds of marching music echoed through the city’s main streets. The ceremonial parade, which began in front of the University of Military Security and Defense, filled the streets of Tashkent with a festive atmosphere. Officers, cadets, and representatives of various branches of the Armed Forces took part in the parade, which also featured a cavalry unit. Residents of the capital watched the military parade with great interest,” the report says.
It is emphasized that Defenders of the Motherland Day is of great significance not only for servicemen, but also for veterans and all those who contribute to maintaining peace in the country. This day, which in 1992 was linked by a parliamentary decision to the transfer of all military units and formations located on the territory of Uzbekistan to the republic, is today regarded as the date marking the formation of one of the strongest armies in Central Asia.
