Congratulation from Pakistan: Uzbekistan-Pakistan relations set to reach new heights in 2026

ISLAMABAD, January 4. /Dunyo IA/.  Uzbekistan’s tourism brand ambassador to Pakistan, Hamid Mahmud Chaudhry, congratulated the people of Uzbekistan on the New Year 2026:

-I often visit your country, and during these trips I am impressed by the results of the reforms being implemented in Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev. The idea of building a “New Uzbekistan” has reached the entire country. Most importantly, the Uzbek people unanimously support these reforms.

The year 2025 was also a turning point in Uzbekistan-Pakistan relations. Bilateral cooperation strengthened across all areas, including expanded opportunities in trade, economic, and investment spheres. Pakistani businesses are showing increasing interest in the Uzbek market.

Our tourism relations are also developing. In recent years, Uzbekistan has become the most popular tourist destination for Pakistanis. People from Pakistan are highly interested in the ancient monuments and cultural heritage of cities such as Samarkand, Bukhara, Tashkent, and Khiva. It would not be an exaggeration to say that visiting the mausoleums of great scholars like Imam Bukhari, Imam Termizi, and Bahauddin Naqshband has become a dream for many Pakistanis. In this regard, direct flights between Islamabad and Tashkent, as well as between Tashkent and Lahore, have provided convenient travel options, which were used by more than 10,000 tourists from Pakistan in 2025.

It should be noted that Uzbekistan’s tourism potential, particularly in pilgrimage tourism, is a very promising area. Accordingly, in the new year, we plan to implement a series of initiatives and promotional activities to further promote Uzbekistan’s tourism potential in Pakistan. We also plan to expand tourist exchanges and develop new travel packages, establishing close partnerships between travel companies and agencies of the two countries.

I would also like to emphasize that Uzbekistan-Pakistan relations did not start yesterday or today; our historical, cultural, and spiritual ties run deep. This shared heritage brings the Uzbek and Pakistani peoples closer together. I am confident that Uzbekistan-Pakistan relations in 2026 will reach an even higher level.

On this occasion, I sincerely congratulate the people of Uzbekistan on the New Year 2026. I wish the leadership of Uzbekistan success in achieving the ambitious goals set for the country’s development and prosperity for the Uzbek people”.
