TASHKENT, December 13. /Dunyo IA/. Yesterday, at the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan, the conference “Advancing Uzbekistan’s Research Potential: EU Partnership Day” was held at Tashkent University of Economics and Technology, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the MFA, the event was attended by Munira Aminova, Adviser to Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan; Toivo Klaar, Ambassador of the European Union to Uzbekistan; Sardor Rajabov, First Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation; representatives of the European Commission; as well as heads and specialists from over 100 higher education institutions in the country.

The main purpose of the conference was to further expand Uzbekistan’s participation in the Horizon Europe program and the EU’s Erasmus+ projects in Uzbekistan, as well as to strengthen cooperation in education and research. Representatives of the European Commission emphasized that Uzbekistan possesses the necessary human resources and scientific capacity to actively participate in these programs.

During the event, detailed information was provided on deepening cooperation within the Erasmus+ program, expanding student and researcher exchanges, launching joint scientific projects, and opportunities for Uzbekistan’s higher education institutions and research organizations to participate in European research initiatives.

These initiatives were recognized as a logical continuation of the agreements reached during the first Central Asia – European Union Summit in Samarkand and the visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Belgium. The parties reaffirmed their readiness to expand scientific and innovation cooperation and enhance Uzbekistan’s participation in European Union research programs.
