Uzbekistan climbs to 29th position in the 2025 Global Quality Infrastructure Index Program

TASHKENT, December 10. /Dunyo IA/. Uzbekistan has climbed to 29th place in the 2025 edition of the Global Quality Infrastructure Index (GQII) program, ranking among 185 countries, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

It is highlighted that in 2024 Uzbek Accreditation Centre (O‘ZAKK) held the 39th position. The index, developed by the international consulting firm Mesopartner with the support of the Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development of Germany (BMZ) and the Physikalisch-Technische Bundesanstalt (PTB), assesses the development of national quality systems and covers 185 economies worldwide. It serves as a valuable source for policymakers, quality infrastructure practitioners, researchers and funding agencies.

The 2025 Report introduces an updated analytical framework based on publicly available data and highlights emerging trends linking quality infrastructure to global trade, sustainable development, and technological transformation.

For reference, the Uzbek Accreditation Centre (O‘ZAKK) has been operating for six years. During this period, it has gained wide international recognition, joining a number of multilateral agreements. The Centre has also been acknowledged by the newly established Global Accreditation Collaboration (GLOBAC) — a unified international accreditation framework that brings together the expertise and principles of the International Laboratory Accreditation Cooperation (ILAC) and the International Accreditation Forum (IAF). Currently, O‘ZAKK provides services in accordance with international standards across 15 areas. In 2026, the introduction of six additional accreditation schemes is planned.
