A briefing held in Italy dedicated to Central Asia and its growing role in relations with Europe

• 188SIENA, May 8. /Dunyo IA/. A briefing featuring ambassadors from Central Asian countries was held at the University of Siena on the initiative of the Italian Society for International Organization (SIOI), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The event also included a presentation of the book by Italian analysts titled “Central Asia – Rethinking the Region: Opportunities for Italy and the European Union”. Participants discussed its key points, including Italy's historical ties with the region and the expansion of multilateral cooperation in recent years.
In his speech, Ambassador of Uzbekistan Abat Fayzullaev noted the deep reforms implemented in the country in recent years, as well as its growing attractiveness for tourists, entrepreneurs, and investors. It was emphasized that this is reflected in the increase in tourist flow, including from Europe and Italy - in 2025, growth reached 16% compared to the previous year.
The strengthening of Uzbekistan's positions in international rankings, including the “Safety Index”, “International SOS Risk Map” and “Gallup Global Law and Order” was also highlighted.
For their part, experts emphasized the sustainable development of Central Asian countries, where economic growth is at least 5% per year. Special attention was paid to the development of the Trans-Caspian Transport Corridor, with confidence expressed in long-term economic cooperation between Italy and the region.
During the discussions, it was noted that against the backdrop of a complex global geopolitical situation, Central Asia is becoming a region of stability and sustainable development, while also strengthening its investment attractiveness.
