Consul General of Uzbekistan meets with the Speaker of the Osh City Kenesh of People’s Deputies in Osh

• 154OSH, May 21. /Dunyo IA/. Consul General Zafarbek Akhmedov met with Bolot Baetov, Speaker of the Osh City Kanesh of People's Deputies, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The meeting was also attended by deputies of the Osh City Kanesh - Ernest Kozhoev, Zhamal Ormonova, Beksultan Usonov, Ilkhom Karimov, Abdulla Aitmatov, and Kozimzhon Alimov - as well as Argen Berdiev, an official from the South Regions Representative Office of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Kazakhstan and staff members of the Consulate General of Uzbekistan.
Particular attention was paid to the issues of further strengthening friendly relations between the two countries, developing interregional cooperation, and implementing a number of joint projects.
Specifically, the sides noted with satisfaction the effective interaction between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan in the political, economic, and cultural-humanitarian spheres in recent years. It was emphasized that the open and constructive policy pursued by the leaders of the two states contributes to strengthening regional stability, mutual trust and good-neighborly relations.
Bolot Baetov, Speaker of the Osh City Kanesh, noted that strong friendly ties have historically existed between the city of Osh and the regions of Uzbekistan, and that there are broad opportunities to elevate these relations to a new level. He emphasized the importance of regular meetings and experience sharing with local legislative councils (deputy councils) in the regions of Uzbekistan's Fergana Valley, as well as expanding cooperation in the fields of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), tourism and education.
It was also noted that five faction leaders from the Osh City Kanesh are expected to participate in the grand opening ceremony of the 65th International Flower Festival, which will take place on May 24 in the Namangan region. During this visit, plans are in place to study the experience of the Namangan region and launch mutual experience-sharing programs.
According to Deputy Ernest Kozhoev, relations between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan are currently demonstrating unprecedented positive dynamics. He noted that the Kyrgyz side, as a brotherly nation, possesses valuable experience in implementing economic development mechanisms that is worthy of study by Uzbekistan. In this regard, increasing the number of border checkpoints and developing joint growth programs represent promising directions for future cooperation.
Additionally, the meeting addressed the activation of economic ties between border territories, the organization of joint business forums and investment events and the creation of favourable conditions for entrepreneurs. The participants also emphasized the necessity of strengthening the mutual affinity between the two peoples through cultural events, festivals and youth exchange programs.
Representatives of the Consulate General highlighted the significant potential for increasing trade turnover between the border regions and expanding cooperation in the tourism sector. Specifically, it was pointed out that the development of tourism routes linking cultural heritage sites and historical cities would generate economic benefits for both countries.
Following the meeting, the parties agreed to further strengthen cooperation, create additional cross-sectoral platforms for dialogue and implement future joint initiatives.
