KUALA LUMPUR, December 20. /Dunyo IA/. Ambassador of Uzbekistan, Karomiddin Gadoev met with Awang Bemee Awang Ali Basah, President (Speaker) of the Dewan Negara (Senate of the Malaysian Parliament), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
Both sides explored ways to expand parliamentary cooperation between Uzbekistan and Malaysia, strengthen the work of inter-parliamentary groups, and establish a comprehensive partnership.
The two parties agreed to institutionalize regular meetings and exchanges of experience between the Senates of Uzbekistan and Malaysia. Recognizing the pivotal role of parliamentary institutions in advancing multilateral cooperation, special attention was given to further enhancing collaboration in investment, trade, transport, agriculture, science, culture, and tourism.
The Speaker of the Malaysian Senate also expressed his intention to undertake an official visit in the near future to Central Asian countries, including Uzbekistan—a nation that has made a significant contribution to the development of Islamic civilization.
