View from Pakistan: The “Lazgi” Festival plays an important role as a platform for cultural diplomacy

ISLAMABAD, April 29. /Dunyo IA/. Participant in the III “Lazgi” International Folk Dance Festival, taking place in the city of Khiva, Tourism Brand Ambassador of Uzbekistan in Pakistan Hamid Mahmood Chaudhry shared his views on the event with a correspondent of the Dunyo IA:

— I am sincerely proud to have the opportunity to participate in this prestigious festival held in the historic city of Khiva and to witness it with my own eyes. It should be noted that under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, special attention is being paid in your country to the development of tourism, culture, and the arts. In particular, international cultural events such as the “Lazgi” Festival are organized at a high level and promoted globally.

The congratulatory message of the Head of State to the festival participants demonstrates a deep understanding that culture, especially the art of dance, is a powerful tool for strengthening mutual understanding between peoples, as well as for promoting peace and unity.

The “Lazgi” Festival is not just a cultural event, but a vivid expression of Uzbekistan’s efforts to preserve its rich spiritual heritage and pass it on to future generations.

Watching the dance performances within the festival, one can feel that this ancient art remains a source of inspiration today, bringing people closer together and uniting them around a common goal. The active participation of both local and international artists gives the festival an even broader meaning and turns it into a true global celebration of art.

From a tourism perspective, such festivals are of great importance for promoting Uzbekistan as a unique and attractive travel destination. They showcase not only the unique architectural appearance of historic cities such as Khiva, but also the rich and diverse cultural life of the country. In particular, for Pakistani tourists, this is a unique opportunity to get to know Uzbekistan more closely and discover it for themselves.

I am happy to be part of this inspiring celebration and look forward to the opportunity to contribute to promoting Uzbekistan’s rich cultural heritage on the international stage.
