Uzbekistan reports an 11.8% growth in imports, reaching USD 28.5 billion during the first eight months of the year

TASHKENT, October 8. /Dunyo IA/. According to the data from the State Committee on Statistics, Uzbekistan’s import volume reached USD 28.5 billion in January–August 2025, marking an increase of 11.8% compared to the same period last year, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Over the first eight months of the current year, Uzbekistan imported goods and services from more than 170 countries worldwide.
The largest import volumes originated from the following countries:
China — USD 8.5 billion,
Russian Federation — USD 5.4 billion,
Republic of Kazakhstan — USD 2.1 billion,
Republic of Turkey — USD 1.2 billion,
Republic of Korea — USD 1.1 billion,
Germany — USD 774 million,
India — USD 734.3 million,
Turkmenistan — USD 581.6 million,
Republic of Belarus — USD 478.5 million,
United States of America — USD 416.3 million.
Imports from other countries amounted to approximately USD 7.2 billion.
The positive import dynamics reflect the growing needs of the national economy, the expansion of industrial production, and the strengthening of Uzbekistan’s foreign trade relations with its key partner countries.
It is worth recalling that in January–August 2025, Uzbekistan’s export volume reached USD 23 billion, representing a 31.3% increase compared to the same period last year.
