JAKARTA, February 5. /Dunyo IA/. The Uzbekistan national futsal team participated in the Asian Futsal Championship held in Indonesia, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

As part of their participation in the 2026 Asian Futsal Cup, members of the Uzbek delegation held a series of meetings.

In particular, the delegation, led by Bekhzod Mamatkulov, President of the Uzbekistan Futsal Federation met in Jakarta with Michael Victor Sianipar, Chairman of the Indonesian Futsal Federation.

During the discussions, the parties focused on expanding bilateral cooperation, supporting youth sports, organizing training camps and hosting international competitions.

Michael Sianipar highly praised the achievements of Uzbek football in recent years, noting the country’s strengthened position in the FIFA rankings and congratulated the national team on securing a spot at the World Cup.

During the meeting, an initiative was proposed to organize an international “U-20” futsal tournament featuring countries from across Asia. It was noted that the championship would enhance youth athlete development, facilitate the exchange of international experience and further promote futsal in the region. The parties also exchanged views on the possibility of holding the competition under the auspices of the Asian Football Confederation (AFC).
