Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan supports Pakistan and China’s initiative to ensure peace and stability in the region

TASHKENT, April 2. /Dunyo IA/. The Minister of Foreign Affairs of Uzbekistan Bakhtiyor Saidov held a telephone conversation today with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Senator of Pakistan Mohammad Ishaq Dar, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

“Had a phone conversation with H.E. Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Senator of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, - the head of the MFA of Uzbekistan wrote in his telegram-channel. - Commended Pakistan’s efforts to de-escalate the conflict in the Middle East. We share the view that the region must not become an arena for confrontation.

Welcomed the joint five-point initiative put forward by Islamabad and Beijing aimed at promoting regional peace and stability, as well as their shared position emphasizing the primacy of dialogue and diplomatic engagement.

Exchanged views on the situation along the Pakistan–Afghanistan border, noting ongoing efforts to reduce tensions and encouraging continued engagement through diplomatic channels”.

According to Xinhua IA, Pakistan and China have jointly put forward five proposals aimed at restoring peace and stability in the Persian Gulf and the Middle East.

The proposals include an immediate cessation of hostilities, the prompt initiation of peace negotiations, ensuring the safety of civilian infrastructure, safeguarding maritime security, and upholding the principles of the United Nations Charter.
