Almost 94% of Uzbekistan’s rural population has access to the Internet

ТASHKENT, October 13. /Dunyo IA/. According to the Household Sample Survey conducted from January to August 2025, 93.9% of the rural population in Uzbekistan accessed the internet, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the National Statistics Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan, internet penetration in urban areas reached 94.3%.
Over the past five years, internet usage in rural settlements and villages has demonstrated steady growth:
2021 — 72.3%;
2022 — 81.8%;
2023 — 87.6%;
2024 — 92.6%;
2025 (January–August) — 93.9%.
A similar upward trend has been observed in Uzbekistan’s urban areas, where internet penetration increased from 79.4% in 2021 to 94.3% in 2025.
The near-universal internet coverage in rural regions reflects significant progress in the country’s digital transformation and underscores the effectiveness of measures aimed at ensuring equal access to modern communication technologies for all citizens.
