DHAKA, July 24. /Dunyo IA/. Bangladesh President Mohammed Shahabuddin submitted his resignation to Speaker of Parliament Hafiz Uddin Ahmad, reports Dunyo IA correspondent, citing the Xinhua news agency.
Commenting on his decision, the head of state said that health problems were the reason for stepping down. “I have various health problems,” Mohammed Shahabuddin said.
According to the Constitution of Bangladesh, Speaker of Parliament Hafiz Uddin Ahmad will serve as acting head of state until a new president is elected.
