ТASHKENT, January 31. /Dunyo IA/.  Earlier reports circulated by several media outlets claiming that a citizen of Uzbekistan had died as a result of a fire in South Korea are inaccurate and do not correspond to reality, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the Consular and Legal Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Uzbekistan’s diplomatic mission in Seoul remains in constant contact with the relevant authorities of the Republic of Korea and continues to clarify the circumstances surrounding the incident. Available information confirms that there are no Uzbek nationals among the deceased.

Embassy of Uzbekistan has not received any official confirmation regarding the death of an Uzbek citizen. Embassy staff visited the scene of the incident and established that the deceased was a 60-year-old citizen of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
