Uzbekistan to host the United Nations Space4Water International Conference in 2027

VIENNA, June 17. /Dunyo IA/. Within the framework of the 69th session of the UN Committee on the Peaceful Uses of Outer Space (COPUOS), Uzbekistan presented its ongoing initiatives regarding the utilization of space technologies for water resource management, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

It was noted that the country is actively implementing modern solutions aimed at the digitalization of water management, the monitoring of reservoirs using satellite data and the evaluation of agricultural water consumption.

During the session, it was also confirmed that through the collaboration between Uzbekistan and the United Nations Office for Outer Space Affairs (UNOOSA), the country will host the next 'Space4Water' international conference in 2027.

It was emphasized that this event will serve as a vital international platform for discussing issues of water security, water resource management under climate change conditions, as well as innovative solutions based on space technologies.
