RIYADH, June 17. /Dunyo IA/. With the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Riyadh, a permanent representative office of “IT Park Uzbekistan” has opened, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

During the event, it was noted that in recent years, by the initiative of the President of Uzbekistan, development of the information technology sphere has become one of the priority directions of state policy. The participants were briefed on the opportunities created in the country for the development of information technologies, the digital economy, software engineering, the startup ecosystem and the export of IT services.

Particular attention was paid to the tax incentives available to residents of “IT Park Uzbekistan”, measures to attract investment, and the large-scale efforts to support the export of information technology services.

It was emphasized that owing to the favourable conditions created in Uzbekistan, specialists and companies from the world's leading nations, including the United States, Canada, France, Japan and Saudi Arabia, are becoming residents of “IT Park Uzbekistan”. Along with this, the steady growth in the export of IT services was noted, as domestic companies successfully expand their presence in international markets.

Furthermore, the event participants were presented with information regarding eight startup projects that have already launched their activities under the “IT Park” representative office in Riyadh.

The “One Million Coders” program, initiated by the President of Uzbekistan, as well as the “One Million AI Leaders” project announced as its continuation, generated great interest among the attendees.

Within the framework of the event, the participants were shown video materials dedicated to the tourism potential of Uzbekistan, its rich cultural and historical heritage, and the outstanding scholars of the past. Presentations were also held focusing on the Center for Islamic Civilization in Uzbekistan and the Imam Al-Bukhari Complex.

The event participants received answers to questions regarding the further development of the IT sector in Uzbekistan, the historical, cultural, and spiritual heritage of the country, as well as the expansion of direct air connectivity. Following the meeting, informational materials were distributed to them.
