MADRID, June 17. /Dunyo IA/. The Spanish analytical and news portal “Orta Lectura” has published an article headlined “Tashkent consolidates itself as the new global financial epicentre: TIIF-2026 Chronicle”, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The publication notes that the capital of Uzbekistan is becoming a center of attraction for global capital, bringing together investors with assets valued at 42 trillion dollars at the 5th Tashkent International Investment Forum (TIIF). Under the motto “Investment Sustainability: New Horizons, New Partnerships”, Tashkent is hosting a financial and investment summit unprecedented in scale.
It is emphasized that the scale of TIIF-2026 has already made history. More than 8,000 participants registered to attend the forum, including 3,423 foreign delegates from 100 countries. These figures have become record-breaking in the entire history of the event. However, the most impressive aspect is the aggregate economic potential of the forum participants: the represented companies and investment funds manage assets worth approximately 42 trillion US dollars, which is comparable to roughly 38 percent of the global gross domestic product.
The source notes that the forum is characterized by an unprecedented political representation. While last year's TIIF featured 26 government delegations, this year their number has surged to 62. Among the participants and speakers at the forum are the leaders of Russia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan and several other states. Additional institutional weight is lent to the event by prominent international figures, including the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Odile Renaud-Basso and President of the BRICS New Development Bank, Dilma Rousseff.
In summation, “Orta Lectura” writes that although the forum will last only three days, its outcomes could exert a long-term impact on the economic development of Uzbekistan and the entire region. The agreements valued at tens of billions of dollars concluded within the framework of TIIF are anticipated to facilitate the implementation of major investment projects and the further integration of the country into the global economy.
