Uzbekistan concludes WTO Accession Talks with Canada and Panama

ТASHKENT, November 6. /Dunyo IA/. Uzbekistan has concluded bilateral negotiations with Canada and Panama on accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

Azizbek Urunov, Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan on WTO Affairs and Chief Negotiator, announced this via his LinkedIn page.
"In the margins of 11th Working Party Meeting on the accession of Uzbekistan to the WTO, Uzbekistan successfully concluded the P protocols on completion of bilateral market access negotiations with Canada and Panama. Uzbekistan side extends the appreciation for Canadian and Panama teams for their constructive engagement in Uzbekistan’s WTO accession process and bilateral negotiations", - wrote the country’s chief negotiator, Azizbek Urunov.
Earlier, Azizbek Urunov, Special Representative of the President of Uzbekistan on WTO Affairs and Chief Negotiator, noted that Uzbekistan still needs to finalize agreements with three additional countries to complete its accession to the World Trade Organization (WTO), though the identities of these states have not been disclosed. He also reported that, to date, bilateral negotiations on WTO accession have been concluded with 31 countries.
Uzbekistan has already successfully completed accession negotiations with key partners including the United States, China, the United Kingdom, and the European Union. The country aims to finalize all remaining negotiations and achieve full membership in the WTO by the 14th Ministerial Conference, scheduled for March 2026.
