TOLEDO, May 25. /Dunyo IA/. A presentation of the work “Three Falcons for Temur” by the well-known Spanish writer Jesús Sánchez Adalid was held in the ancient Spanish city of Toledo, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

The event, organized with the assistance of the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Spain, was attended by representatives of the country's socio-political and cultural circles.

The presentation was attended by the Archbishop of Toledo and a distant relative of the Spanish royal family, Francisco Cerro Chaves, representatives of the city hall, Chief Royal Falconer, Antonio de Castro García de Tejada, as well as young falconers who arrived with their falcons, adding a unique atmosphere to the event.

The solemn ceremony commenced with military music and welcoming speeches. The guests then toured a historic building constructed in 1180, which currently functions as a Catholic church. The venue held symbolic significance, once again recalling the centuries-old cultural ties between the East and the West.

During the presentation, Jesús Sánchez Adalid spoke about the history behind the creation of the book, his impressions of his trip to Uzbekistan and the rich historical and cultural heritage of the Uzbek people. According to him, travels to Samarkand, Bukhara and other historic cities of the country played an important role in shaping the core idea of the novel.

The author noted that the concept for the book emerged following his visit to Uzbekistan in 2024. During his journey, he deeply studied primary sources, European chronicles, and diplomatic records of that period.

The plot is based on the journey of ambassadors sent by the Castilian King Henry III to the court of Amir Temur. The envoys bring three royal falcons as a gift to the Sahibkiran. The narrative centers on the adventures of Alvaren, a young apprentice falconer accompanying the diplomatic mission.

According to Sánchez Adalid, the novel “Three Falcons for Temur” is based on 15th-century historical sources, primarily on the memoirs of Castilian diplomat Ruy González de Clavijo, “Embassy to Samarkand”. The work broadly explores not only historical events but also the cultural and political relations between the two civilizations.

The writer emphasized that the novel promotes the idea of a cultural dialogue between the East and Europe - a dialogue that has formed over centuries and has not lost its relevance in the era of globalization.

The author also noted the special role of Amir Temur in world history as a statesman who created a vast empire and transformed Samarkand into one of the largest scientific and cultural centers of his time. He added that today, interest in the Temurid legacy continues to grow within international scientific and cultural circles.

During the event, special attention was paid to the prospects for further cultural cooperation. Jesús Sánchez Adalid expressed his desire to visit Uzbekistan again. Furthermore, he announced plans for a film adaptation of the novel “Three Falcons for Temur” and the creation of a feature film based on its motives. According to the author, the rich historical heritage of Uzbekistan, the architecture of its ancient cities and the image of Amir Temur are of great interest to international cinema.

Furthermore, the writer disclosed that he is currently crafting a new historical novel centered on the prominent figure of Mirzo Ulugbek, highlighting the renaissance of science and culture during the golden age of the Temurids.

The attendees underscored that the presentation transcended being a significant cultural event, as it will actively contribute to deepening the humanitarian bonds between Uzbekistan and Spain, promoting our nation's profound historical legacy on the global arena and fostering reciprocal interest between both peoples.
