More than half of Uzbekistan’s population lives in cities

TASHKENT, July 9. /Dunyo IA/. The permanent population of Uzbekistan is approaching 38 million people, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the National Statistics Committee, as of July 1, 2025, the permanent population of Uzbekistan amounted to 37,859,698 people.
This figure represents a 2% increase compared to the same period in 2024.
Of the total population, 18.8 million are women, and 19.1 million are men. Urban areas are home to 19.3 million people, while rural areas have 18.6 million residents.
