KUALA LUMPUR, May 4. /Dunyo IA/. Queen of Malaysia Raja Zarith Sofiah arrived in Uzbekistan yesterday, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
The high guest was welcomed at the airport by the Minister of Preschool and School Education Ezozkhon Karimova and First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Bakhromjon Aloyev.
The visit of Queen of Malaysia to Uzbekistan, taking place from May 3 to May 8, has received wide coverage in leading Malaysian media outlets, including “Bernama,” “The Star,” “New Straits Times,” “Astro Awani,” “The Sun,” as well as popular social media platforms in Southeast Asia.
Her Majesty arrived in Uzbekistan as the honorary chair of the University of Technology in Malaysia. She is expected to deliver a speech at a scientific-practical conference on the topic “Scientific Tradition in Islamic Civilization: Sources, Potentials and Challenges,” which will be held at the Center for Islamic Civilization in Tashkent.
In addition, during the visit, the high guest will visit Samarkand to become more familiar with the country’s rich Islamic historical and cultural heritage.
A special place in the program is the visit to the Imam al-Bukhari complex in Samarkand, one of the important pilgrimage sites, highly respected among Muslims in Malaysia.
The visit of Queen of Malaysia Raja Zarith Sofiah to Uzbekistan is intended to contribute to the further development of brotherly relations and cooperation between the two countries.
