Nearly 35,500 Foreign Patients chose Uzbekistan for medical treatment in the first half of the year

TASHKENT, July 23. /Dunyo IA/. In January-June 2026, 35,401 foreign citizens visited Uzbekistan for medical treatment, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.

According to the National Statistics Committee, the main share of foreign patients consisted of citizens from neighbouring Central Asian countries. In particular, 19,096 people arrived in Uzbekistan from Tajikistan, 9,552 from Kyrgyzstan and 4,582 from Kazakhstan.

Furthermore, in the first half of the year, medical services in the country were provided to 1,280 citizens of Afghanistan, 772 citizens of Russia and 119 citizens of other states.

It is worth recalling that in 2025, over 86 thousand foreigners visited Uzbekistan for medical treatment.

Statistical data reflect the sustained high demand for medical services in Uzbekistan among foreign citizens and demonstrate the further development of inbound medical tourism.

According to experts, the dynamics of inbound medical tourism are the result of the consistent modernization of Uzbekistan's healthcare system, the expansion of the network of modern multidisciplinary and specialized clinics, the introduction of advanced diagnostic and treatment methods, as well as the improvement of the quality of medical services. The growing number of foreign patients contributes to strengthening the international prestige of Uzbekistan as a promising center for medical tourism in Central Asia, developing the export of medical services, and expanding humanitarian cooperation with the countries of the region.
