New Delhi hosts talks on expanding Indian investment in Uzbekistan’s key sectors

NEW DELHI, April 22. /Dunyo IA/. A roundtable discussion hosted by the Embassy of Uzbekistan in New Delhi brought together more than 30 Indian entrepreneurs representing sectors ranging from information technology to solar panel manufacturing, reports Dunyo IA correspondent.
During the meeting, representatives of Indian companies expressed readiness to launch joint projects in areas such as artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, electronics, and the establishment of handicraft hubs, among others.
Participants were provided with detailed information on favourable conditions for implementing projects in Uzbekistan’s free economic zones and industrial parks, including tax and other incentives for foreign investors, as well as government support for startups within IT parks across the country.
Particular emphasis was placed on policies in the field of digital technologies and artificial intelligence. It was noted that Uzbekistan is positioning itself as a regional hub for Indian IT companies seeking to enter Central Asian markets.
Indian business representatives showed strong interest in partnership opportunities in energy, digitalization, agriculture, and handicrafts.
Key topics discussed included improving energy efficiency, optimizing consumption, manufacturing electric batteries and solar panels, introducing advanced IT solutions, training and upskilling specialists in cybersecurity and AI, developing small-scale technologies for agricultural processing, establishing joint clinics, and launching collaborative projects in traditional crafts.
The event also featured a Q&A session, during which Indian companies received guidance on business registration in free economic zones, intellectual property protection in the IT sector, and other relevant aspects of bilateral cooperation.
At the conclusion of the roundtable, participants were invited to attend the Fifth Tashkent International Investment Forum and “ICT Week Uzbekistan 2026,” to be held in the capital of Uzbekistan.
