Foreign Minister of Uzbekistan discussed topical issues of cooperation within the CIS with colleagues in Minsk

On April 12, 2024, Minsk hosted the meeting of the Council of Foreign Ministers of the Commonwealth of Independent States. Delegations of MFAs of Uzbekistan, Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, and Turkmenistan attended the event.



Foreign Ministers exchanged views on the topical issues of global and regional agenda, as well as cooperation within the CIS. The parties also signed a number of documents aimed at strengthening ties in many dimensions, including political, educational, sport, capacity building, and others.

Ministers unanimously decided to announce Ganja (Azerbaijan) and Almaty (Kazakhstan) as the sport capitals of the CIS for 2025 and 2026, respectively.
